Latest Information about Novel Coronavirus Cases in China

On July 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 5 new cases of confirmed infections (3 imported cases, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Yunnan province; 2 indigenous cases, both in Beijing municipality), 1 new case of suspected infections (in Beijing), and no deaths. 12 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 453 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Severe cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on July 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 1,923 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,854 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 69 confirmed cases (no cases severe cases) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on July 2, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,542 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,499 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 409 confirmed cases (including 8 cases severe cases) and 6 suspected cases. 763,077 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 5,589 were still under medical observation.

On July 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 4 new asymptomatic cases (including 3 imported cases). 6 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 4 imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 2, 97 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 59 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 2, 1,736 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,242 in Hong Kong (7 had died and 1,120 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (45 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 448 in Taiwan (7 had died and 438 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
