Latest Information about Novel Coronavirus Cases in China

On July 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new cases of confirmed infections (6 imported cases, 3 in Gansu province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Sichuan province; 2 indigenous cases, both in Beijing municipality), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 7 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,072 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of severe cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on July 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 1,931 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,863 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 68 confirmed cases (no cases severe cases) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 4, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,553 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,516 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 403 confirmed cases (including 6 cases severe cases) and 7 suspected cases. 763,557 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 4,201 were still under medical observation.

On July 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 7 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 5 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 4 imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on July 4, 99 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 63 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 4, 1,753 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,258 in Hong Kong (7 had died and 1,145 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (45 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 449 in Taiwan (7 had died and 438 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
