On July 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Guangdong province), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases, 1 in Inner Mongolia and 1 in Shanghai), and no deaths. 10 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 254 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Servere cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on July 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 1,942 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,870 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 72 confirmed cases (no cases severe cases) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,565 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,528 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 403 confirmed cases (including 7 cases severe cases) and 7 suspected cases. 764,486 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 3,940 were still under medical observation.

On July 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new asymptomatic cases (including 14 imported cases). 8 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 7 imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 6, 114 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 77 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 6, 1,780 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,285 in Hong Kong (7 had died and 1,157 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (45 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 449 in Taiwan (7 had died and 438 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
