Latest Information about Novel Coronavirus Cases in China

On Sept 17, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 32 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 13 in Shaanxi province, 12 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Guangdong province and 1 in Fujian province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 8 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 514 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Sept 17, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,706 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,541 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 165 confirmed cases (including 2 in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 17, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,255 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,456 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 165 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 825,201 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,443 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 17, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 20 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 6 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 17, 366 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 365 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 17, 5,542 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 4,993 in Hong Kong (102 had died and 4,682 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 503 in Taiwan (7 had died and 478 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
