On Oct 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 7 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shanxi province and 1 in Shanghai municipality), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 15 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 467 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Oct 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,940 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,735 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 205 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,489 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,650 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 205 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 837,935 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,792 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 19 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 4 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Oct 6, 376 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 374 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 6, 5,699 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,132 in Hong Kong (105 had died and 4,875 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 521 in Taiwan (7 had died and 485 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
