Consul General Sun Dali attends the China in South Africa Free State Week and meets with Premier of Free State Province

The Free State provincial government on April 16th opened the China in South Africa Free State Week. Consul General of People's Republic of China in Johannesburg Sun Dali, Premier of Free Sate Province Ace Magashule attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was also participated by over 300 guests, including representatives from other provincial and metropolitan governments of South Africa, Chinese delegations led by co-operating provinces, towns and cities with which the Free State had relations, Chinese businesses and companies in South Africa and overseas Chinese living in South Africa.

Consul General Sun Dali encouraged in his speech the Chinese businesses and companies and the local Chinese communities to contribute to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. He urged in the meantime the Free State provincial government to help improve the living and working conditions for the Chinese businesses and companies and the local Chinese communities.

Free State Premier Ace Magashcule thanked the Chinese Embassy, the Chinese Consulate General in Johannesburg and other Chinese institutions for their ongoing support for and cooperation with the Free State Province. He hoped that the China Week would be an opportunity to attract more Chinese companies to trade and invest in Free State.

Consul General Sun Dali met with Premier Ace Magashcule and discussed on the promotion of bilateral trade and economic development and building of better cooperation between China and South Africa before the ceremony.

The hosting of China Week followed Chinese President Xi Jinping and South African President Jacob Zuma declaring 2015 as the year of China in South Africa.
