Chinese Cultural Day held at University of Pretoria's Gordon Institute of Business Science

On the 30th of August 2016, Deputy Consul Genral Ren Xiaoxia attened the Chinese Cultural Day held at Gordon Insitute of Business Science.

Among the guests were members of China-Africa Youth Association, representative of Mandarin SA Long Yongjiang, lecturer of University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science Matthew Birtch and representative from the City of Johannesburg Zanele Nkosi.

Deputy Consul General Ren Xiaoxia spoke of the richness of the Chinese culture and the importance of coming together not only as partners in business but culturally and as friends. Ms. Ren added that the Chinese Cultural Day played an important role in introducing Chinese culture, prompting understanding and friendship between the Chinese and the South African peoples. She mentioned that she looked forward to more cultural events to be held for the benefit of China-South Africa relations.

The highlight of the event were the dragon dance and Chinese drums which accompanied the dancers during their performance.
